2c hotel - jackson ward

A 1960’s precast concrete building is the backdrop for a new boutique hotel in the city’s Historic Jackson Ward.  The project will be a small, unique contribution toward a solution to the city’s hotel room shortage. Planned amenities include a 50-seat open kitchen restaurant featuring live entertainment, an independently owned and operated day spa and salon, and a cocktail bar and lounge.

Expanding upon and complimenting the existing material palette of concrete, decorative mosaic tiled walls, and decorative stone panels, the design theme will also include the arts and history of the African American neighborhood that was, and hopefully will be again, the entertainment venue for historic downtown Richmond.
